I’ve been asked so many times what I do for a living. In simple terms, I just say that I am a freelancer. In all actuality, that is only scratching the surface of what I do. I am a blogger, influencer, actress, model, voiceover artist, petsitter, and much more. I keep myself busy and I LOVE it! I have no regrets leaving my part-time retail/food service jobs because I feel that I am doing what I am meant to be doing.
Why Should I Start a Side Hustle?
- It can be done from anywhere! Whether you live in cities like New York City or San Francisco, a small town like Bandera, Texas or you have some Charleston, South Carolina real estate, there’s a business for you to start. Every area has their own specific needs, so try to find a specific niche that will work best for your area. Who knows- maybe you’ll be the creator of the next big thing!
- It’s flexible! When you start your own business, you can work as little or as many hours as you want. Only have a few free hours a day to work around your current job, your family, and your life? That’s OK! If you use your time wisely, you can get started. That being said, your amount of success may vary, depending on how often you work. I always feel working SMARTER is the best way, not necessarily working HARDER.
- It provides freedom! This is pretty similar to the earlier point of flexibility. But I made this one separate because this one specifically mentions how you are your own boss. You run your business exactly how you want to, you don’t have someone breathing down your neck telling you that you aren’t good enough. Of course, depending on the side hustle you choose, you will still have customers or clients you want to please, but you are not required to provide services for anyone you don’t feel would mesh with you in terms of pricing or attitude. If someone really likes and wants the specific work you create or offer, they will cater to your needs.
- It’s fun! I LOVE my side hustles. It gives me the chance to turn my passions into payments. I am always enjoying the projects I’m working on. Whenever I get stressed out about something that has to get done, I remind myself how much happier I am working for myself and doing what I love. To me, that is worth any stress I may encounter.
This was just a quick post explaining why everyone should have at least one side hustle to make some extra cash (especially during the holidays, am I right?)
