Directly from their Facebook page:

“Meet William Gillette– the dashing actor who brought one of literature’s greatest sleuths to life on stage. A man with a penchant for theatrics, Gillette’s home is a secluded castle in Connecticut with hidden doors, secret rooms and more. When a murder occurs under his roof, it’s up to Gillette (and Sherlock Holmes) to help catch the killer.”

Last week, I attended the press night performance of “Holmes for the Holidays!” by Ken Ludwig. I do not like researching shows before seeing them, so I went into this performance with no expectations beyond knowing that I’ve seen many of these talented actors in other productions. All I knew is that the show had SOMETHING to do with Sherlock Holmes, so I knew I was in for some sort of mystery.

A mystery indeed! I found myself engulfed in the plot and each of the characters’ lives. I had many guesses as to “whodunnit” but there were plenty of twists and turns that kept me on my edge of my seat throughout the entire production. Each actor made the characters their own and really showcased themselves as actors. Every character was extremely complex, both due to Ludwig’s writing and the actors’ talents. Facial expressions, excellent body language, strong stage presence, and comedic timing stood out to me in this show from all actors. ┬áThe comedic timing between the characters of Felix Geisel (played by Michael Sokoloff) and William Gillette (played by Kerry Jones) was (as the kids say nowadays) “on point.”┬áDirector Jennifer Carnahan and producer Jeff Maher worked very hard to make this show a success and it definitely shows. Between the talented cast, the great set, and awesome stage effects, this is a production that you cannot miss!
